we have an eleven month old?
it's real, people. our little guy is eleven months old. only one more month until he's officially ONE. be still my heart.
seriously, guys? i may be completely biased, but this little kid is the coolest. he has grown into the sweetest, little goofball and we just love love love him. and i've gotta say, he was such a trooper over the last month while we were getting ready to move across the country to Washington DC. he did great on the twelve hour drive from chicago to DC, slept great while we were living in the hotel (john's hotel housed us for free while we apartment hunted- amazing!), and was such a sport while we checked out numerous apartments. we were so thankful for him being such a great sport during our transition to the east coast, and he's already loving it here, and so are we! but that's another blog post in itself.
so, what's new with liam?
he has four teeth, his two front teeth and two bottom, and we've spotted two teeth buds on the sides of his front teeth. and man, they are little chompers! every time he sticks something in his mouth that he shouldn't, we stick our finger in to get it out and he chomps down with all of his little might. yikes! but when he flashes that toothy grin, you can't help but laugh!
he can stand all by himself! he's starting to try and take steps on his own, but gives up and collapses. it's so fun seeing him try this new skill, and he has the biggest smile on his face when he's doing it. he also loves reading books, especially books with touch-and-feel and flap books. it's amazing seeing him flip the pages by himself, and making little noises as if he's reading the book to himself. i'm so glad that he's taking an interest in reading, and i hope he continues to love reading throughout his life.
and lastly, he FINALLY has his own room. to put this into perspective for you, liam has been in our room since the day he was born...i know, i know...we are insane. in our place in illinois, we lived in a one-bedroom, and we had no other place to put him because the floor plan of the rest of the apartment was completely open. and let me tell you, it was a nightmare. i used to be a very deep sleeper, but every noise and toss and turn that liam would make, it would wake me instantly. but since we've been living in virginia, he's been in his own room and sleeping through the night, and so have we! it's been a huge relief and blessing for us. and now he can wreak havoc on his own bedroom! this is one of his favorite things to do- take out everything in the drawers. at least he's adorable, right?
check out a few of my favorite moments of our little goofball from the past month:
oh, how i love this kid.
happy eleven months, liam eugene!
p.s. stay tuned for liam's halloween costume, pictures coming this weekend! I CANNOT WAIT.
