i used to be well-rested, well-groomed, and early to everything i was going to. now, i sport dark circles under my eyes, dress with the thought of possibly being puked on, and am rushing out the door whenever we have to be somewhere, and you know what? I HAVE NEVER BEEN HAPPIER. i try and teach him as much as i can, but in the end, he is the one who is teaching me. he teaches me patience, better time-management, how to be a better mother, and pure love; a slobbery kisses, bedtime stories, and singing lullabies kind of love. it isn't a walk in the park being a mother, and there are some days when i feel extremely inadequate, but when i look at the two new teeth coming in, or when i look at liam's face light up when i go and get him from a nap, my sadness and inadequacies disappear. i'm his mama, he's my sweet baby boy, and nothing will ever change that.
so, what's new with mr. liam boy? well, he's finally getting teeth! woot woot! we were all wondering when white little teeth buds would appear, and they finally are making their way into our little guy's gums. not peacefully, however. he wakes up a few times in the night in pain, and has his fussy moments during the day, but overall is doing well. the best part is, he is getting his two front teeth! at the moment, he looks like mater from "cars", and it makes me laugh every single time. he also is getting two bottom teeth, so he's a little teething machine. to help him feel more comfortable about his teething, i bought him a toothbrush and special baby toothpaste. every morning after breakfast, liam and i brush our teeth together. he loves it!
as he's been growing over these last few months, we've really started to see his little personality come through. he is extremely smiley and happy when he knows you, but the second he meets a new face, he becomes so serious, and stares the person down with the most hostile look on his face. it's hilarious! he loves to put anything and everything into his mouth, and is a great vacuum cleaner with eyes like a hawk. no matter how many times i pick up everything off of the floor, he somehow finds something that is not good for him and puts it in his mouth. let's just say i vacuum a LOT. he also loves to push things around like the laundry basket, the stroller, and even his bin full of toys. he also loves to push the cart at the grocery store around. he's crawling everywhere, getting into everything (i repeat, EVERYTHING), and is starting to love to dance. we listen to the baby einstein station on pandora radio, and he loves bouncing and grooving to the tunes. he is getting so strong, and could possibly start walking over the next few months. that'll be such a fun day!
when it's just liam and i at home, we are having a blast, but the second that daddy comes home, it's all about daddy. when liam hears the keys jingling outside of our door, he immediately starts to crawl towards the door knowing that john is home. it's adorable. liam and john are best buddies, and i'm so thankful for that. they wrestle, play games, and do the typical boy stuff with each other. it is the best. and seriously? john is the best husband and father on this planet. he works tirelessly for our benefit, and still does all that he can to help out with things around the house, and with entertaining liam. i'm so thankful for that. with john by my side, our life together has been so enriched because of our boy, and being parents together has been such a sweet experience.

check out our growing boy! such a little ham.
oh, this little boy kills me. my heart just bursts.
happy ten months, liam eugene!
(these monthly pictures are getting more difficult to get...)
as you can see, lots of fun things going around in the fryhoff household.
and if you haven't heard yet, we are moving! we are waving "bye-bye" to our little apartment in illinois, and heading to the washington dc area where john will be a housekeeping manager at the gaylord national resort and convention center in oxon hill, maryland.
come and visit us, we would love to have you!
and for the record, I AM SO EXCITED.
i'm thrilled for the new adventure. i look forward to seeing all of the museums, monuments, the hustle and bustle of politicians, and the history behind it all. from what i've heard, there are endless things to do in washington d.c., and we can't wait to go and explore. i got a book from the library explaining everything there is to know about the washington dc area, and i'm definitely taking notes.
the question is, am i sad to leave illinois? it is definitely bittersweet.
we know that we were supposed to come to the chicago area for a reason, and we feel that the reason was to meet the wonderful people that we did, and to further john's career. but for me, being so far away from home with a husband that works crazy hours makes for long nights of loneliness, and way too much time to think. if it weren't for john, liam, skype sessions with my family, and my dear friend shamis, i would definitely be in the loony bin. all in all, the times we spent here were filled with adventure, and building excitement for our next adventure which we knew would be approaching. i'm so thankful for the people that we met through church and john's work. we've met some incredible individuals and we are so thankful for their friendship to make our short time in illinois a great experience.
all in all, we are so excited this next adventurous move, and cannot wait to enjoy what the east coast has to offer.
come and visit us, we would love to have you!
